|A1. Should rape be an argument for abortion?
Compassionate assistance, loving care, and competent long-term counseling are available to the rape victim. Assault rape pregnancies are extremely rare. Not one pregnancy as a result of assault rape has been recorded by Health and Welfare Canada or Statistics Canada.
A2. Does abortion lower the crime rate?
(a) The cause and effect relationship has not been established.
(b) Many factors would contribute to a drop in crime, such as economic condition.
(c) England and Russia, where the crime rate is extremely high, have very high abortion rates. Therefore, the study is not very convincing.

A3. What is the connection between breast cancer and abortion?
(a) A study lead by Dr. Janet Daling of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, found a greater risk of breast cancer for women with one or more induced abortions. There was higher risk if the abortion occurred between ages of 18 and 30.
(b) Dr. Joel Brind, a pioneer researcher in this field, according to his meta-analysis, says that any woman who chooses abortion, no matter her age, or how many children she has, has a significantly increased risk for breast cancer.
(c) When pregnancy occurs, estrogen and other hormones flood the female system, causing dormant cells to rapidly grow into ducts and gland cells which produce milk. When these changes occur, the cells are less stable and have greater potential of becoming cancerous. If the first pregnancy is completed, these cells mature and stabilize. However, abortions, usually done in the first trimester, stop the cell development at the unstable phase. Apparently, cancerous changes occur more frequently among the transitional cells of a woman who has aborted, increasing the chance of cancer.
A4. Why is it legal to kill pre-born children by abortion?
The Right to Life is the first right enshrined in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. But section 223 of the Criminal Code allows that children in the womb are not considered to be “human beings” or “persons”.
A5. Should one have the right to impose their religious morality on others?
(a) History shows that longstanding anti-abortion legislation was initiated by the medieval establishment, in order to protect the unborn.
(b) Planned Parenthood, the leading advocate of abortion on demand, once held the view that “abortion” ends the life of a baby after it had begun”. Also they stated that it may make one sterile, so that when you want a child, you cannot have it.
(c) Religious people did not discover when life begins; biologists did. Religious people did not establish that at conception, a unique individual exists; geneticists did.
(d) Some oppose abortion on religious grounds, but that does not make abortion a religious issue any more than the opposition of religious people to driving after drinking makes drunk driving a religious issue.
A6. Shouldn’t every child be a wanted child?
Every child should be cared for whether they are wanted or unwanted. Children should not be objects who have a right to exist, depending on how you feel towards the situation. Most aborted children are sacrifices to solve social, economic or personal problems.
Studies show that children who were abused after birth, started off wanted during pregnancy but for the wrong reasons. Whether the child is wanted or unwanted, what should we do with the ones who are unwanted? Should we care for them or kill them?
A7. Is it reasonable to say that legal abortions are safe abortions?
A legal abortion does not mean it is a safe abortion. Along with abortions are physical and emotional dangers for any girl or woman. A Chicago newspaper uncovered 12 deaths from legal abortions in Illinois abortion clinics. Statistics also show very high abortion complications and malpractice lawsuits. This shows that legal abortions are not always physically safe. Also, there is no guarantee that damage won’t occur to the baby, whether it be in the short or long term.
There are organizations for women who have had abortions and regret it. This shows that abortions can leave emotional. Just because it is a legal abortion, there are still some very serious risks and it is never guaranteed to be safe.
A8. Shouldn’t every woman have the right to control her body?
No woman has the right to kill an innocent, defenseless human being. When a woman is pregnant science shows that there are two different heartbeats, two different brainwave patterns, two different blood types and even sometimes two different sexes. Abortion seeks to replace self-control by trying to control the body of someone else.
